A great time was had by all who attended the costume construction party at YiMisty's home on Saturday, March 21st! Patterns were cut and sewn, plastic was vacuuformed into helmet components, parts were shaped, and good comradery was shared. Hope to see more at the next work group!

Last Toy Drive of 2008

Brave souls from Alpha Base and Garrison Titan stood in the curbside lot at the Atomic Comics store to collect toys for the Children's Hospital in Tacoma on a blustery December 13th. Having a Wookie on hand really pleased the passing crowds, and caused some to stop in to buy toys and get their photo op. Everyone took shifts warming up in the store and at a nearby food stop. With undaunted spirits we filled up our barrel much to the pleasure of the store operator, Shane!

Night at the Museum 2008

A philanthropic contributor to the Museum of Flight hosted a special birthday party for their son December 7th. Alpha Base and Garrison Titan were the icing on the cake so to speak. The birthday youngster is a large Star Wars fan. Actors from a community theater conducted a Jedi Academy play area while our members visited and provided photo opportunities for the families and children. The host family expressed a desire to contribute to a couple of our favorite charities for our appearance. Both young and old wielded lightsabers and rocked to Darth Vader lip syncing with the orchestra. A fine event for all!

Toys For Tots Drive 2008

Alpha Base joined with Garrison Titan to help the Marine Corps Reserve in their annual Toys For Tots drive at the Toys-R-Us store in Lynnwood, WA on Saturday, Nov. 23rd.

We were visited by reporters from the Everett Herald. Subsequently, an article appeared in the newspaper and on Heraldnet.com.

Pottery Barn Kids Photoshoot 2008

This was a formal costume request that was held nationwide to introduce a Lucas Film Ltd. licensed line of children's furnishings. These kinds of events are limited to approved film accurate costumes and specific character types. One reason why admission to Alpha Base membership requires at least one formal costume approval.
